The Belle of Bassingbourn is a limited edition print depicting the moment on May 17, 1943 as the ground crews of the 91st stand on the field of Bassingbourn watching the bombers return from their mission. They have particularly been anticipating the return of The Memphis Belle, and after Capt. Morgan makes his victory pass over the airfield, he pulls the Belle up as he passes the tower, bringing her almost directly over their heads. Printed on 100# acid free stock, the edition consist of 500 Prints and 50 Artists Proofs, each signed and numbered by the artist and by the pilot, Col. Robert Morgan, with Certificate of Authenticity. |
